2023 Course Curriculum Syllabus

COURSE OVERVIEW

Abrehot Library is pleased to launch an English 101 course for members only. English 101 is an advanced course for adult English learners in grade 9 – Undergraduates. Students will continue to apply their English language skills to achieve communicative competence. Emphasis will be placed on listening, speaking, reading, pronunciation, grammar, and writing skills. The course will present selections in fictional short stories, poems, and novels, as well as non-fiction writings. Students will practice active reading habits; building focus and vocabulary as they develop the necessary discipline for lifelong learning and academic success.

PARTICIPANTS: Grade 9-12 students.

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the course, students will:

  • Improve their communication skills;
  • Improve and apply their grammar skills;
  • Read stories and begin to express themselves in writing.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE & TIME COMMITMENT 

Participants should expect to commit 2-3 hours per week to the learning curriculum. Much of the learning will take place in a self-directed fashion, i.e. at your own pace. Each module is scheduled for 60 minutes.

  • Abrehot library will distribute application for this opportunity and select the top 100 appropriate attendees for further consideration
